XOMA
Surveying great inventors and businesses
Axial: https://linktr.ee/axialxyz
Axial partners with great founders and inventors. We invest in early-stage life sciences companies such as Appia Bio, Seranova Bio, Delix Therapeutics, Simcha Therapeutics, among others often when they are no more than an idea. We are fanatical about helping the rare inventor who is compelled to build their own enduring business. If you or someone you know has a great idea or company in life sciences, Axial would be excited to get to know you and possibly invest in your vision and company . We are excited to be in business with you - email us at info@axialvc.com
XOMA is an early-stage drug royalty aggregator. Founded in 1981, a peer of Genentech, XOMA used over $1B without an approved medicine. In 2017, after ~40 years of failing to commercialize their own drugs, they pivoted to royalties.
Inspired by companies like Royalty Pharma, XOMA focused on early-stage drugs building a portfolio of >60 assets. The premise is that the risk-adjusted price per asset for early-stage assets is lower with royalties bought for singular millions instead of $10M-$100Ms.
The business model gets exposure to the high upside of biotech with limited/diversified downside protection with the long-term vision of building a large balance sheet similar to Royalty Pharma & lower its cost-of-capital.
XOMA got started by monetizing their legacy pipeline, selling assets off, & raising the capital to build its existing royalty portfolio. Learn more about XOMA here:
