Papa is an eldercare startup that connects members with “Papa Pals” to help with everyday tasks, companionship, transportation, and more. Founded in 2017 out of Miami by Andrew Parker, the company touches the lives of >100K seniors and their families.

The platform is essentially a 3-sided marketplace, on one side working with healthcare plans to at-home/virtual care to seniors & on the other, recruiting/training Papa Pals to provide services. Rather than running an agency themselves, Papa’s model works to scale with low CACs.

Papa works with the largest health plans & >100 managed care orgs in the US, charging a capitation to them. Per member, per month for the Papa Pal and care delivery. With the majority of adults acting as a caregiver, Papa frees their time and reduces elder loneliness (40%-70%).
